The Institute's material

Content published by the Institute remains its property or that of its contributors. You may quote it with attribution. Republishing substantial parts, or using the Institute’s name, crest or marks to imply endorsement, requires written permission.

The competence framework is published expressly so that it can be cited and relied upon — attribution is asked for, permission is not.The framework →

Guidance is guidance

Technical material published here reflects good practice at the time of writing. It does not replace project-specific engineering judgement, and it does not transfer any duty from a duty-holder to the Institute. Demolition is high-hazard work: the responsibility for a safe method remains with those planning and carrying it out.

The members' register

The register confirms a person’s grade and standing with the Institute. It evidences assessed competence at the grade shown; it is not a warranty of any particular piece of work, and it does not remove your own duty to satisfy yourself that an appointee is suitable. Search the register →

Availability

The Institute aims to keep the site available but does not guarantee uninterrupted access, and may change or withdraw material without notice.
