Thursday 11 April saw the latest IDE Midlands Regional Meeting held at Finning UK Ltd at Watling Street, Cannock.
Fourteen IDE members and guests were greeted by Simon Lewis (Product & Business Development Manager, Work Tools and Attachments) at the large Hammer newly installed at the front of the Finning Offices.
The IDE President Vernon Watson FIDE and the Vice President Adrian McLean FIDE welcomed everyone to the meeting before delegates were escorted around the Finning UK facility to see plant being built to customer specifications.
Finning UK then gave presentations on the Caterpillar range of demolition machines and attachments, including an excellent view into the future of electric machines.
The presentations showed the details of all the work tools, and many questions arose from the floor. Questions were answered during the presentation which gave attendees the opportunity to discuss the various types of work tools available and what they are used for.
Adrian McLean shared his encyclopaedic knowledge of demolition work tools and, in particular how the weights of carriers and oilquick systems change the actual weight of the tools.
The IDE would like to thank Finning UK for holding the event and all speakers and attendees who participated in the event.
The next Midlands Regional Meeting will be held in the Summer at a venue and time to be agreed.
