Our Members
IMPORTANT: The Institute confers membership on professional demolition engineers. Companies and other corporate bodies are not able to become members, and receive no accreditation whatsoever from us. Please beware of misrepresentation on websites and in printed literature. The NFDC publishes a list of Contractors who are members of their federation.
IDE Status
Entrant (basic grade, formerly Enrolled) The Membership Committee has been satisfied with the member’s account of three years experience in the demolition industry at senior supervisory or management level.
Technician – the member will be working within the role of Demolition Supervisor or Manager and have at least 5 years experience in the profession of demolition engineering, associated engineering science, education or design with approved industry training.
Associate – the member has passed the Institute’s examinations which assess knowledge of regulations /legislation and the theory of demolition methodology /techniques and safety.
Full Member – has at least two years post-examination experience in demolition engineering and has been successful in a Professional Interview before Fellows of the Institute.
Fellow – the member has given outstanding service to the industry and distinguished support to the Institute.
Affiliate – the member works in an occupation associated with demolition engineering and is not a demolition engineer.
Student – the member is in full time tertiary education studying a subject relevant to demolition engineering.
