Keep an Occupational Hygienist in Your Toolbox
Rupert Balfry and Helen Pearson from Viridis Safety will give a short introduction to occupational hygiene and how occupational hygiene can be employed to help you protect worker health.
What is Occupational Hygiene? What types of hazards do Occupational Hygienists assess? When might you need an occupational hygienist? All these questions and more will be answered.
Many activities in the construction and demolition industries can lead to worker exposure to hazards that will result in adverse health impacts in the short, medium and long term. This presentation will look at some of these hazards, how they are assessed and how the health risks might be mitigated down to an acceptable level.
Wearing her British Occupational Hygiene Society’s Scottish Regional Organiser hat Helen will provide some brief information on the BOHS campaign “Breathe Freely” which is due to be launched shortly.
