Many years ago the then IDE President David Keane attended a small regional meeting in Birmingham and during his address set Past President John Woodward the challenge to make Midlands Regional meetings the benchmark for all future IDE regional events and from that day the region has continued to host quality informative events on a regular basis, the latest of these at Casey Joe’s Solihull on Thursday 26 March.
This latest event, sponsored by Armac Group, was extremely well attended with over 35 people enjoying presentations, lively debate and then a Casey Joe’s curry and a few beers round off the night.
Attendees from Leicester, Nottingham, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Wolverhampton and Birmingham enjoyed the presentations from;-
Spillard Safety Systems who gave a great presentation on their new 360 degree cameras for vehicles https://youtu.be/CLOC4BU_0ak
Phil Jones, from Volvo UK, who showed everyone the first glimpse of the new Volvo high reach machine.
Adrian Mclean, John Woodward and President Duncan Rudall then spent around 30 minutes debating and discussing current topics from the industry including the changes to CDM when CDM2015 comes into force on 6th April, the problems of social media and uploading of inappropriate content by employees, and the new IDE training courses proposed for 2015.
Thank you once again to Adrian McLean for organising and sponsoring the event.
