Stephen Sutton

It is with a heavy heart that we say good bye to Stephen Sutton who passed away on Wednesday (14th) after his battle with cancer. Stephen came to talk to us at our Autumn Seminar in Leeds in February of this year and gave, what I think, was a funny, thought- provoking and inspirational 20 minute talk about his life and time management. Over 200 demolition men were in the auditorium and very few broke for lunch with a dry eye including myself.

Many of us sat and had a chat with Stephen over lunch and it was hard to think that this young man was terminally and painfully ill. I’m not sure I would have been so brave and positive if I were in the same position.

At the Seminar Stephen was aiming for £500.000 for his charity and it’s amazing that since then he has achieved in excess of £3.5m for the Teenage Cancer Trust which is an amazing feat and we hope that the fundraising continues.

So, we say good bye to Stephen, it was an honour to meet you and rest in peace. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time who I’m sure are very proud to have had Stephen in their lives.  Click here to read Stephen’s Story
