Once the West Sussex Waste Local Plan is adopted, it will provide a basis for making consistent land-use planning decisions about planning applications for waste management facilities.

We have produced a consultation document titled “Have your say on the West Sussex Waste Local Plan”. This document gives an outline of what the Waste Local Plan is about, and how you can respond to the consultation. The consultation document, response form, and draft Plan are available for viewing online at www.westsussex.gov.uk/mwdf or in West Sussex local libraries, Help Points, and County, District or Borough council offices, including the South Downs National Park Authority office at Rosemary’s Parlour, North Street in Midhurst.

In order to respond to the consultation you need to either complete our online response form (www.westsussex.gov.uk/mwdf), fill in a paper form and post it to us, or download the form, complete it, and email it to us at [email protected].

The responses received during this consultation will be used to inform the development of a Proposed Submission Draft of the West Sussex Waste Local Plan. We will then consult on the ‘soundness’ of the plan during late 2012 prior to its submission for  independent examination by a Planning Inspector.

The County Council is committed to listening to its customers and ensuring that the diverse needs of our community are taken into consideration throughout the decision making process. To that end, we welcome your views or the views of those you represent.
