It was a great pleasure for Officers of the IDE to be present on 25 March at the 2011 AGM of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors to witness the hand over of the chains of office.
It is widely acclaimed that every demolition company worth its salt has a qualified and competent demolition engineer on board. The NFDC supports this in having a top table of IDE members.
Dave Darsey, who was awarded an IDE Fellowship last year, completed his two years service as President of the NFDC. The Federation has continued to grow under his care and raise the profile of the demolition industry throughout the UK and into Europe. We congratulate him on a job very well done.
We look forward to welcoming Gary Bishop MIDE, who took over the reins as the NFDC President, to his ex-officio seat on the IDE Council of Management. At the beginning of the luncheon he set out his dynamic plans to make the NFDC even more successful in the next two years.
William Sinclair MIDE, who hails from Scotland, moves up to NFDC Vice President to assist Gary with his duties and will stand in for him where required. William has extensive experience of collaborating with demolition trade associations in Europe and America.
Martin Wilson AMIDE becomes 2nd Vice President and will bring dedication and confidence to this office and a willingness to work hard for the NFDC over the next 8 years. Next year’s NFDC AGM will provide an opportunity for further celebration when, all being well, Martin will have attained the status of Full Membership of the IDE.
We congratulate them all and wish them every success.
